10 Years Ago I Was Broken.
Most people look at my photos and see a big smile. They love my energy, they love the vibe and bubbly personality. Yet, 10 years ago I was experiencing the biggest crash in my life…
I was crying all the time. I was getting sick every 2-3 weeks. I ended up getting pneumonia. My spirit was broken. My heart was broken.
Why? Many reasons for it.
You see, I am the type of person who pictures something and works on achieving it. And I always wanted a big happy family. And that is exactly what I planned for my marriage to be.
Unfortunately, 10 years ago my marriage was coming to the end, and I was going to raise my kids on my own. At the time they were 2.5 and 5.
Not an easy decision. Not an easy job.
Fast forward just a bit after my marriage came to an end, a business I worked on growing for the past 3 years crashed as well.
I felt desperate, lost, stressed and so frustrated.
Seriously, I couldn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel.
I remember one night when I asked myself: What was the point of my life?
I cried myself to sleep that night and woke up the next morning determined to make some changes.
I started reading a lot. Lots of inspirational books. Lots of spiritual (new age) type of stuff.
It helped, but I needed more help. I needed a person to talk to. Someone who can shine a light on things that I need to change to improve my life. (And the reality is, when you are down, you just can’t see it.)
And the thing is, when you are searching for a solution, life has an amazing way to deliver it to you. I went to friends gathering and I met my life coach.
Just the right person for the job too.
While my cash flow was not great at the time, I knew I needed help. That coach was as necessary as the air I breathed in. So I hired him.
I got to say, that personal transformation was not easy. I am an action taker, so I followed the instructions carefully even though my ego tended to show up from time to time, but I listened.
And within just a few short months, my life was changing. People around me started to see the change. My kids were seeing the change. My new business was starting to bring in steady profits. And my health was under control again.
Looking back at that time now, I have to say, that was the best thing that could have happened to me. Why? I’ve grown so much as an individual, and it made me realize, how important it is to have the right mentor in life.
Having the right mentor can make all the difference between real life success and wasted years.
